BTCCSquare news:

The "One Big, Beautiful Bill" will slash nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid nationwide, with Oklahoma alone facing $6.3 billion in cuts. This poses an existential threat to rural healthcare—over half the state's rural hospitals risk closure, despite nearly 50% of Oklahomans residing in these areas.

SoonerCare, Oklahoma’s Medicaid program, covers a quarter of the population, including a majority of children. Rural hospitals, already operating on razor-thin margins, may need radical restructuring to survive. Nationally, 700 rural hospitals are vulnerable, with 300 at immediate risk—Oklahoma ranks among the top three states for projected closures.
